Sun Weng Chun has won public praise for its excellent quality as a sauce brand. Besides that, it has a complete internal operation system too. It is a contemporary sauce manufacturing factory with a mechanized operation system and modernized management. |
|
| |
In 1985, Sun Weng Chun was only a small company operated as a cottage industry. The founder Mr. Wong (nicknamed Lek Goh) started his business on a three-wheel motorcycle pedaling around residential areas thereby laying gradually the foundation for his business. Currently, he has his own factory, dozens of employees, vans, lorries and other transports. |
| |
Lek Goh belongs to the generation which is ignorant of public relations and advertisements, let alone branding, packaging of products and other techniques for marketing. Sun Weng Chun’s success in establishing its brand is attributed solely to its quality and hard labor. In the eyes of Lek Goh, excellent quality is the only way to success.
Lek Goh born in 1950 in Ipoh started working in a sauce factory, doing odd jobs, at the tender age of 14. When he was 35 years old, after working for 21 years, he left the factory for a greener pasture. He started his own business of sauce manufacturing at the backyard of a wooden house in Bercham New Village in Ipoh.

Lek Goh, an illiterate, had only about two thousand ringgit which was a severance pay from his former employer. That was all the capital that he could invest on his business. The manufacturing and operation aspects were far from desirable as there were grave deficiencies in many basic necessities. However, with his quality sauces and good service of his three-wheel motorcycle, he was on his path in quest of wealth. |
